I thank you for visiting our website.

I’m Matt Crowder, and I’m running for Galveston County Tax Assessor / Collector because I know I can make the office more efficient and take the politics out of it.

My wife Tarah and I live in Dickinson with our son, Luke. My family and I have a long upstanding history in Galveston County. With our locally owned and managed family businesses and the time we’ve served in public service, we’re proud to call Galveston County home.

I have inherited a long-time family tradition of being involved in our community. While I’m not new to elected office, my family also shares in that history of public service. My grandfather, James Crowder, is a former Mayor of La Marque and later, Tiki Island. My father, Ron Crowder, served a Mayor of La Marque and was elected a Galveston County Commissioner.

I am a former director and Chairman of the Galveston County Drainage District #2. I serve on the Board of the non-profit Hospice Care Team as their treasurer. I have extensive experience in business, both in management and as an administrator.

I’m employed by Crowder Funeral Homes, and serve on the board of Crowder Investments, Inc. As president of Crowder Holdings, Inc., I am in charge of property management and commercial real estate development. I hold memberships in the Tax Assessor/Collector Association (TACA) and the Texas Association of Assessing Officers (TAAO).

I’ll be proud to serve as your Tax Assessor/Collector.
Thank you for your interest and please explore other areas of our website.
